The photo gallery was looking fairly empty, so I decided to post some old pictures, as there won’t be any new content for a few more weeks (i.e. until I’m done moving out). Again, posting the six “new” ones (that haven’t appeared online before) here, with links to the bigger versions in the gallery. Enjoy!

At some point I’d like to have this embedded in the main page, but for now, here is a brief listing of the things I’m currently reading/listening to/watching/meditating on/etc. With any luck I’ll remember to keep it updated, which should be no small task given the speed with which I’m breezing through my to-read shelves. Unless otherwise noted, you can safely assume that any books/movies/TV shows/albums/songs/objects of aesthetic appreciation listed there are highly recommended for general consumption.

This is rather outdated by now, but it’s the only solo recording of mine I feel comfortable posting as of now. I’m still proud of the recording quality, even if the vocals leave something to be desired (namely training/pitch control/a decent voice). Plans as of right now are to sell off some of my old recording gear by the end of the summer in order to pay for a new Mbox, so that I can get back to doing new recordings once I move out of my apartment. So rest assured that there will be bigger and better recording projects posted here in a few months.
Until then, here is the version of Flashbulb Diary’s “Dark Star” I did for my music class two summers ago. Enjoy.

It’s story time.
This was my final effort from my fiction workshop this past semester. The writing of it was rushed, as with all of my stories, though probably less so than usual. It’s an interesting concept, consistent with my perpetual interest in storytelling as its own subject, but it’s not carried through all that well. With that said, I think it’s still one of the best things I’ve written, if not the best, and I’m quite proud of it.

The photo gallery is now up and running. It’ll be re-themed in the near future (as will this main page), but it’s up and it has content, to the tune of ten photos. Four of the ten haven’t appeared online before, so I’m posting them here, with links to the bigger versions in the gallery.

With graduation robbing me of my free server space, I suddenly needed a place to dump the products of my various artistic endeavors. And nishmael.net was born.
The intent is twofold: to keep all of my pictures, stories, recordings, essays, and other outpourings of creative energy in one place; and, perhaps more importantly, to motivate me to actually be productive. With any luck, the existence of this site will keep me writing and recording and such during this whole “year off” nonsense. And it has the nice side effect of allowing interested parties to keep track of my artistic output without having to sift through assorted ramblings on Livejournal. Needless to say, all content is copyright 2005 Adam Haley.
(I should also note that my wonderful girlfriend is doing the bulk of the actual work for me, because she’s a) nice and b) geeky.)
Enjoy.
